    School teachers

    Back to school night

Summer this is your third grade teacher, Mrs. Shesniak.

I met her one time so far. She seems really nice and tan.
I can tell that they are stepping things up though and hopefully you'll like the challenge.
This is the first year you'll get actual grades, like A, B, C, D, or gasp, F!
So far you have been doing your homework without complaining. Keep it up!!

Violet, this is your kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Lear.
She said she has waited over 20 years to teach and is super excited to finally be able to.
Oh lady, be care for what you wish for. Kidding! Kindergarteners are so little and cute!
You have learned alot already while being there. I can tell you love it!
I love seeing that glow in your eyes when you talk about your day.

These are the munchkins that keep me from getting bored at home.
I don't even know what to say about the picture it just seems to speak for it's self.
Naughty Boy, Busy Baby, and Stubborn Girl

    Salvation Army shopping

    Cheap!!! Cheap!!!
So you school girls needed some new winter clothes so I have been scouring the local thrift stores for bargains. One day I found a bunch of nice shirts for both of you. It's true what they say. If you find something you like in the right size keep looking because chances are you'll find more. Did you ever see anyone drop off one item?  I also picked up 3 fleece pj's for Anthony.

And just to prove I don't dress you like clowns everyday
here is a picture of you in your new (to you) clothes.
Summer, I will always remember the day I bought crocs for you at The Little Bowtique. We came out to the car and I asked if you want to wear them right now. You said sure and took them.
Then you said, "Mom!! Someone wore these already. There are marks on them!"
I was surprised. I never thought about explaining to you about outgrown or thrift stores. I mean it's just common knowledge. I explained to you that yes someone wore them already. We had been to Goodwill lots of times and I said that all that stuff is used too. It was all new to you.

It's funny the things I take for granted that you children should know
but don't because I never took the time to explain it to you.

Yeah! It's gone!!
Violet's cast came off  Sept. 2.
From the looks of her shirt she is enjoying getting wet without worrying about the cast.
I gave her a pack of markers that are made to draw in the tub.
And yes I was in a hurry so I quickly wrapped it in tin foil.
She didn't care!
It was so funny. For the rest of the day she still acted like she had it on
but then other times she would say I can do this now because I have two hands!!
It took her a couple days to be able to fully straighten her arm because her muscles were tight.
And then one evening I heard a big thud in the girl's room. Violet came out crying and Summer said that Violet jumped off the ladder and fell on her arm.
WHAT!? Do not tell me you hurt you arm again!!!!
It was fine but really that girl needs to stop climbing for a while!

First day of school

Back 2 School

Off they went, on their first day of school on August 30.
Summer is entering 3rd grade and Violet kindergarten.
Violet is going everyday all day.
I am glad for the change in our routine. I'm anxious to see how it'll be at home with just 3 little ones.
Summer has been such a big helper this summer.
I will miss that. Alot!!
I am sooo dreading the homework every night though. Alot!!
I wanted outfits that kinda matched.
Somehow Violet's dress didn't look so clownish on the hanger.
She is not going to be happy with me years to come.

It brings back memories of my first day at a new school in 5th grade.
My mom made me a new dress that was either green with purple dots or purple with green dots.
Later I found out that the other kids made fun of that dress. From that moment on I HATED polka dots. Only in the last couple years have I started to like polka dots.

And those crocs on her don't help matters either.

They just make her look more clownish.
I should not be allowed to dress my children.
It looked better in my head.

Luci was up but not happy.
Maybe she is scared of clowns.
Good bye!

A few days later we had to leave as soon as they got on the bus so I took a picture with all of them.
It'll be interesting to see how much the children have grown
when I take their pictures on the last day of school.
Sara will be walking and Lord willing there will a 7 month old added to the picture.
And maybe Anthony and Luci will be living with their mom.
You never know what 9 months can bring.
Especially in our house.

Pine Creek Cabin

Pine Creek Cabin
     Aug. 19-21

Cabin time again! The third weekend of August we head to Pine Creek with Quintin's family.
I usually take pictures of the kids when we go but decide to have Summer take one of me and Quintin instead.
Yes, Quintin we are aware you hate pictures.

Thank you to whoever invented Wonder Markers. They kept the girls occupied. I only noticed after I came home that I had caught Luci in the act of trying to draw on the ceiling.

Anthony is happy if he can play with anything that has wheels, wings, a dump, or can hook to something else.
On Friday while Quintin's parents, aunt and uncle went bike riding, Quintin and I took the children down to the creek.

Quintin put a bag over Violet's cast then wrapped tape all around it. It looked so uncomfortable but I must say that girl never complained.

Later Quintin took the girls for a bike ride.
Summer was loving every minute of that.

I waved good bye, turned around and saw this!
Anthony with his diaper in his hand! It must have wiggled out and down his shorts. How funny! Glad I had my camera handy.

On Saturday we decided to go on a local train ride.
The children were so excited!

The girls getting on the train with Quintin's aunt and uncle.

Friday night Paula and Jerry joined us for the rest of the weekend.

Why do I bother getting pictures of Quintin? He never cooperates!!!

Sara was scared of the noice at first but soon got used to it.

Time for a family picture!
Can one of you please look at the camera?

Another family picture!
Why not? You can so tell that everyone is into it.
I told Summer to get close behind me and then me and Quintin are a mile apart. Oh well, at least everyone is on the picture.
 I think!

What would a weekend be at the cabin with out mountain pies?
 Hope we never find out.

They are so in tune with each other.

Unlike their son and daughter in law!
I think Quintin did this on purpose so I erase it!
Ha! Ha! I posted it. Twice!

I must thank the owner's genius plan to buy this grill for the cabin. The men couldn't keep their hands off it.
I might make sure all my meals include this big baby next year. Hee! Hee!
Although come to think about it Ruth Ann looks pretty happy too.
Maybe because she got her hubby to help her.
Don't let all the other pictures fool you.
This is what we did most of the time.
