    Fingerprint art

On Tuesdays and Thursdays Luci and Anthony started having parenting classes with their mom. Since it's so far from home it gives me two hours to find something else to do with the other children. On Thursdays I try to do my errands and Tuesdays I would like to spend doing something fun with the girls. This Tuesday I took the girls to Long's Park for a picnic. I had also picked up a fingerprint book the other day at Michael's. You're supposed to dip your finger in ink, press it on a page, then draw something out of the fingerprint. It also came with glitter glue and sparkles.

    Their page they did together.
I think it's so cute. I'm tempted to rip it out, frame it and put it in their room.

And of course I took some more pictures of them.

Should I use this for her 9 month picture?
Also just a note before you think they must be so thrilled to have me as a mom. When we got home I was so tired (pregnant) I put the little ones down for a nap and took one myself. I told Summer and Violet they could play with the book while I slept. When I woke up Violet had a big, fat mark from a marker down her back!! While she is very accident prone, I know she's not that flexible. So I took the book and marker from Summer for a few days while she thinks about being more responsible with markers. Ha! Jokes on me she probably already for got about it
    Summer, Violet, and Sara's bedroom.
Quintin, my handy husband (when he has the time) made these bunk beds that come apart. He also made the cupboard in the back. I love both pieces. Oh, and there is Summer's doll she got for her birthday.

Sara's crib from Good will. Lantern at the bottom is from Salvation Army and the gray chest is from my grandpa's sale. Quintin's grandma made the quilt on Summer's bed.

    Anthony and Luci's bedroom
The colors just happened because I need it to be a boy and girl room. I'm kinda leaning towards Dr. Seuss. I have some more things I'd like to put on their walls. Hey who is that cutie who keeps following me around?
Lets get a closer look at you. I'm borrowing the bed from my sister. The dresser is from when I was a teenager. I would love to paint it. I splurged on the book holder from pottery barn outlet a long time ago. Now that I think about it though, I believe the price was really lower because the paint was nicked off at one place. Really, like that's not gonna happen after being in my house a few minutes?  My mom made the curtain for me, like 5 years ago.

And an even closer one of you, Sara. I'm tempted to use this shot for your 9 month picture.

    Our main bathroom
Quintin picked out the paint color. I think he did good. At first I thought it was a little dark but when I added the yellow it looked a little better. The shower curtain, stool and valance, which is actually a pillow sham came from Good will. The flowers on the curtain are cut from a t-shirt that I didn't want. The soaps on the stool were taken from Comfort Inn.

    Notice our new flooring

Another look at my "valance" and  homemade sign.

There it is. Someday I can look back and say wow I can't believe I decorated like that! How embarrassing!

    Kids, creeks, and dogs

The neighbor's creek runs behind our house a ways. If that makes sense. Anyway the children like cooling off in it.
We took our dog Kenya down. Boy, does she ever love it! She goes crazy.
I can't even get a good picture of her because she never stays still long enough. As soon as you say her name so she looks at you she is right there licking your camera.

What needs to be said. Someone got tired of playing the Hi-Ho Cherry-o game the way it was meant to be played. We need disinfectant.
Some would rather not be related to those two.

Run! Mom has the camera out again!

Sara is eating french fries for the first time. There is not much this little girl will turn down! The more she does the closer in age these two seem.

    Luci, you make me smile.
I love the way you show us how old you are.
Anthony, your cheeks are so pinchable! ( even when they're dirty)

Hey blue eyed beauty, you're our heart breaker.
Xavier was at our house so he had to pose for me too! Xavier, you are always full of energy. Is there a turn off button on you anywhere? Did you ever give dad's glasses back or are they lost until we move again?!

Summer, you're the sunshine of our lives!

I love doing your hair. So stop cutting it!
Violet, you always say your the apple of my eye and you're right!!

Yes, Sara I know we are all so silly but what you don't know is we like to make you laugh so we can see those two adorable little teeth.

    Staying cool

We are trying to stay cool this summer. I bought a slip 'n' slide for them which ripped in like 10 minutes. Next I got the hose thing for Summer's birthday which Summer and Violet enjoy. It's a little too crazy and unpredictable for the younger ones. So I bought this pool at Good Will which they enjoy but gets so dirty within 2 minutes. They don't care though.

Luci often has a Dora toy near by.

    one year older

Summer turned 8 on June 30. She was excited about turning a year older but we were ALL excited about  getting rid of her car seat. Finally!! Quintin always says that whoever invented car seats never had any children themselves. It is such a pain. He was gone for a few days over this time. Anyway, I got a little off track there.

We celebrated her birthday a little early because Lexi was at our house. I thought it would be fun this year to decorate cupcakes.

She was super excited to see all her gifts and of course to turn 8.

I let her open one a day early. It was very hot that day.

See those faces. We. are. hot. Do. something. about. it!
So I let her open this hose thingy that squirts water everywhere. It was a little crazy but they enjoyed getting wet and cooling off.

So the next evening she opened the rest of her gifts. I'm not sure why but I never took a picture of her gifts after she opened them. She got an American type doll from Target, a pack of ten shoes for the doll, Dora panties, bubbles, chalk, and more. I can't remember everything. The doll was a big hit. I'm so glad that she still likes getting dolls and panties with characters on them. They grow up fast enough. I also put her birthday card in the balloon and blew it up. I had seen it done somewhere but like so many things I try it was harder to do then I thought. Well, Summer happy birthday. We love you!

    McDonalds

Okay, don't judge me but going inside to McDonalds is a big deal. Big enough to take pictures. With 5 children and this time 6 it is just too hard. I can't hold a tray and Sara while making sure Luci and Anthony don't wander off. Anyway, I decided I'd brave it this day. I waited until 2 in the afternoon after the rush. I also figured they would be so hungry they would just sit there and wolf down their food. Well, do I know my children or what. They did wonderful but you won't find me in there anytime soon. Not that you would find me at my McDonalds anyway since I live in no man's land now!
